Firebird Tarot: a Slavic Folklore deck | by Baroque Publishing
£48.00
A Slavic folklore deck that brings together beloved characters from the legends told in Eastern Europe - Baba Yaga, Marzanna, Ivanushka, the Firebird... - and pairs them beautifully with Tarot archetypes.
As Mustapha, the publisher, explains: "I'm Tunisian, and in Tunisia, it's incredibly common for students to go study medicine in Slavic countries — Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Poland. It's been happening for decades. And the ones who return? They always come back with stories.
They'd talk about the winters that lasted forever, the way strangers would invite you in for tea, the superstitions many of their landladies still believed in — don't whistle indoors, don't shake hands across a doorway, leave a little food out for... something..."
🐦🔥 80-card deck, 7 x 12 cm; 330gsm German blackcore cardstock with linen finish, gilded edges, printed guidebook, magnetic box.
Created by Mustapha from Tunisia, illustrated by Milos from Serbia, cover design by Marta from Poland. Printed in China.
